Leads & targeting

How do you source and verify your leads?

Our leads come from two main sources. For local businesses we maintain our own Google Maps data infrastructure, so we can pull fresh data on demand instead of relying on a stale database. Our LinkedIn-based B2B data is licensed from a leading data partner (the same grade of data that powers the major sales-intelligence platforms) and refreshed monthly. Several secondary sources are combined and deduplicated on our end.

Every email address goes through seven verification checks (syntax, domain, live mailbox test, catch-all detection, and more), and when we have several possible emails for a contact, an internal scoring system picks the most reliable one. On top of that, live verification gates let you check a contact right before outreach: for example, whether the person has recently been active on LinkedIn, is still at the same company, or has a minimum follower count.

Can I target businesses by industry, revenue, company size, and location?

Yes. The lead finder lets you combine filters for:

  • Industry: pick industries from the standard NAICS taxonomy, or simply describe your niche in your own words and we match it for you.
  • Company revenue: revenue ranges from under $1M up to $1B+, which is also the best way to target by company size.
  • Location: country, state, and city. We match both the contact’s own location and the company headquarters.
  • The right person: job title (free text) and seniority level, from Owner and C-level down to Manager and Staff.
  • More: company name, technologies the company’s website runs on (e.g. Shopify or WordPress), and founding year.

Can I export my leads to Excel or Google Sheets?

Yes. Open Contacts and click the Export button at the top right of the table — it downloads your contacts as an Excel file (.xlsx). The export always contains exactly the contacts currently shown, so you can use filters first to export just a subset (e.g. one tag or one city).

The file opens directly in Excel. For Google Sheets, open a spreadsheet and use File → Import → Upload to bring the file in — everything comes across, no conversion needed.

Account & billing

How do I change my account email address?

Go to My Account → Security, enter your new address in the Email field, and click Update Security Settings. We then send a confirmation link to the new address — click it within 24 hours to complete the change. Until you confirm, you keep logging in with your old address; afterwards, use the new one. We also notify your old address whenever a change is requested, so you can reach us if it wasn’t you. You can change your password in the same place; if you signed up with Google and haven’t set a password yet, leave the current password field blank.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Go to My Account → Billing and click Manage Subscription. This opens a secure billing portal where you can update your payment method, view invoices, change your plan, or cancel. The portal will ask you to confirm your email address — use the same email you signed up with.

If you subscribed through the App Store, subscriptions are managed through your device instead: on Apple, open Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions; on Google Play, open Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions. We cannot cancel or refund App Store subscriptions directly.

Pricing & credits

How do credits work?

Everything in Deeplead runs on a single currency called credits. Every plan includes 500 credits per month, completing the onboarding checklist and guided tour earns another 800 (enough for your own dedicated sending domain and inbox), and you can top up in the app at any time, starting at $0.03 per credit — the price drops the more you buy. One rule covers the whole service: finding leads is free, and you only spend credits when you send.

Free — no credits: searching and browsing leads, viewing a contact’s full details, and receiving replies (or replying to prospects yourself).

Costs credits:

  • Sending an AI-personalized email — 3 credits each, for the initial email and every automated follow-up. This covers AI research of your prospect’s socials and website, personalized email writing, and sending. Credits are refunded automatically if a send fails.
  • Saving leads to your contacts — Person Finder and Business Finder charge 1 credit per contact you add.
  • Dedicated inboxes and domains bought from us — 130 credits per inbox per month and 700 credits per domain per year (details below).

The questions below break down each of these costs.

What is the cost per inbox?

Everything in Deeplead is priced in credits — you receive credits with your subscription and can buy more in the app at any time, starting at $0.03 per credit (the price per credit drops the more you buy). A dedicated inbox purchased from us costs 130 credits per month (from ~$4) with a 3-month minimum term paid upfront (390 credits), warmup included. After the first 3 months it renews monthly at the same rate. Inboxes you connect yourself (Gmail, Microsoft, or IMAP/SMTP) are free to add — you only pay for the emails you send.

How much does each email I send cost?

Every email sent through a campaign costs 3 credits (from ~$0.09). That single price covers the whole pipeline: AI research of your prospect’s socials and website, a personalized email written for that one recipient, and the send itself. You are only charged for emails that are actually sent — if a send fails for any reason, the credits are refunded automatically.

Is there a charge for replies I receive?

No. Receiving replies is completely free — there is no credit charge when a prospect answers one of your emails.

Do follow-ups and my own replies cost credits too?

Each email a campaign sends — the initial outreach and every automated follow-up in the sequence — costs the same 3 credits. Replying to a prospect yourself doesn’t use any credits; credits are only spent on campaign sends.

What does a domain cost?

When you purchase dedicated inboxes, the domain costs 700 credits (from ~$21) and is paid for a full year — registration and DNS setup are handled for you. Each domain can hold up to 3 inboxes (130 credits per inbox per month, 3-month minimum term). After the minimum term you can cancel an inbox’s renewal at any time — it stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for.

Campaigns

How do I send emails to my leads?

Sending happens through campaigns. The full path from lead to sent email:

  1. Connect a sending inbox. Go to My Account → Connect Email and connect your own inbox, or purchase a dedicated inbox from us (warmup included). Emails are never sent from your login email — they go out through an inbox you set up here.
  2. Save leads to your contacts. Find leads with any of the finder tools and add them — they all land in Contacts.
  3. Create a campaign. Open Campaigns and click Create New Campaign. The wizard walks you through describing your offer, who it’s for, and the email content — the AI then writes a personalized email for each recipient based on that.
  4. Add your leads to the campaign. In Contacts, select the rows you want to reach, right-click, and choose Add To Campaign.
  5. Let it run. The campaign sends automatically within your inboxes’ daily limits, including follow-ups. Replies land in your Inbox inside the app, where you can answer directly.

Inboxes & sending

Which connection method should I use for my inbox?

All options live under My Account → Connect Email:

  • Google (Gmail / Workspace) — connects via IMAP/SMTP using an App Password (see the next question). You only enter your email address and the App Password; server settings are handled for you.
  • Microsoft (Outlook / 365) — connects via OAuth: you sign in with your Microsoft account in a couple of clicks, no passwords to copy.
  • IMAP/SMTP — for any other email provider. Enter the server details from your provider; you can verify the credentials with the built-in connection test before saving.

How do I connect a Gmail inbox with an App Password?

When connecting a Gmail account via IMAP/SMTP, Google does not accept your normal Google password — you need an App Password:

  1. Make sure 2-Step Verification is enabled on your Google account (Google Account → Security). App Passwords are only available with 2-Step Verification turned on.
  2. Open myaccount.google.com/apppasswords, give the password a name (e.g. "Deeplead"), and click Create.
  3. Google shows a 16-character password once. Copy it — this is what you’ll use as the IMAP and SMTP password.
  4. In Deeplead, go to My Account → Connect Email → Google (Gmail / Workspace) and enter your Gmail address and the App Password. Server settings are configured automatically.

If you connect through the generic IMAP/SMTP form or CSV bulk import instead, use your full Gmail address as the username, the App Password as the password, and Gmail’s servers: IMAP host imap.gmail.com, port 993 — SMTP host smtp.gmail.com, port 465.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes — by connecting inboxes that run on your domain. Create the mailboxes with your own email provider (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or any provider with IMAP/SMTP access), then connect them under My Account → Connect Email. Dedicated inboxes purchased from us always come with a fresh domain we register for you — you can’t attach an existing domain to them. That’s intentional: sending cold outreach from a separate domain protects the reputation of your main domain.

How many emails can I send per day?

Each inbox has its own daily sending limit — up to 30 emails per day as the standard setting (when connecting your own inbox you can raise it to at most 50). We keep these limits low on purpose: sending more from a single inbox is the fastest way to end up in spam. To send more overall, connect or purchase additional inboxes — your total daily capacity is the sum across all of them.

Do you warm up my inboxes?

Inboxes you purchase from us are warmed up automatically — we handle warmup for as long as they’re active, and they start with a low sending limit that ramps up safely. Inboxes you connect yourself are not warmed up by us: use them only if they already have a healthy sending reputation, or warm them up with a third-party tool before running campaigns.
